Hejira Duo celebrate the jazz side of Joni Mitchell.
Hejira have won huge acclaim in recent years for their celebration of the music of Joni Mitchell. In this special duo concert guitarist Pete Oxley and vocalist Hattie Whitehead explore the jazz side of Joni’s classic albums with a focus on the golden era of the late 1970s when Joni worked extensively with the crème de la crème of US jazz musicians. You’ll hear songs from The Hissing of Summer Lawns, Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter, Mingus, Shadows and Light and Hejira.
The gig is the second in a special series presented by One Jazz at a unique venue – the small and beautifully renovated chapel in the middle of Stoke Newington’s Abney Park, North London, on the afternoon of Saturday 16th November.
