Jesse Fischer is an award-winning pianist and composer based in Brooklyn, NY. Known for his warm, soulful touch and emphasis on melody, groove, storytelling and emotion, his unique voice combines elements of modern jazz, music of the African diaspora, and his own Jewish heritage. A recent awardee of the South Arts Jazz Road grant, as well as an American Music Abroad finalist and three-time ASCAP Plus Award winner, Fischer has performed and collaborated with many notable artists including Charlotte Dos Santos, Léon Phal, Sarah Elizabeth Charles, Melanie Charles, Mino Cinelu, and Morgan Guerin.
Fischer has headlined many prestigious jazz clubs around the world, including the Blue Note (New York), Ronnie Scott’s (London), and Sunside/Sunset (Paris). He has released several records as a leader, most recently Resilience, which was called “One of the best jazz albums of the summer of 2020” (PostGenre) and garnered many accolades including NPR’s New Music Friday playlist, Jazzwise Video of the Day, Jazziz Weekly Discover playlist, Apple Music Jazz Currents and On the Corner playlists, and SoulandJazz.com Jazz Album of the Week, as well as over 1.3m Spotify streams to date.
Recently having stepped into radio and music curation, Fischer currently maintains a monthly vintage vinyl mix show on Hi-Note Radio (based in NYC) as well as a monthly show of current underground jazz on the new One Jazz radio platform (UK). He is also one-half of the Vein Melter duo along with producer/multi-instrumentalist Sly5thAve; a core member of the groundbreaking future-jazz collective Ajoyo; as well as a prolific producer & songwriter, remix artist, and passionate educator.
