Chris Philips is an award-winning radio presenter, sharing jazz and other musics for 40 years on London radio.
Chris was an original DJ on K-Jazz, the UK’s first dedicated jazz radio station. In the mid 1980s the pirate station was broadcast from his South London garage on Sundays. K-Jazz featured such luminaries as Gilles Peterson, Jez Nelson, Bob Jones and Kevin Beadle.
In 1990 Chris joined Jazz FM 102.2, hosting weekday afternoons, before co-presenting the acclaimed late night show Somethin’ Else with Jez Nelson. After departing Jazz FM they took the show to Kiss 100FM, simultaneously co-founding the independent production company of the same name.
After fifteen years on air at Kiss 100, Chris had stints on Choice FM and The Jazz, both now defunct. In 2009 he joined newly re-launched Jazz FM. Hi enthusiasm for sharing new music in unconfined and now is a co-founder of One Jazz.
