Carrying the musical flame from London to Milan and more recently, Lausanne, Switzerland, Beatrice is a Europhile and a keen jazz enthusiast with an ear for rhythm and melody. Starting out many moons ago at London Jazz Radio that soon became Jazz FM (hello Jez and Chris!), she got stuck into the 90s crossover jazz scene that was impacting younger generations on the radio and in the clubs.
Years in Italy on national radio stations, playing an eclectic mix of anything that swung with syncopation, were followed by a move to Switzerland and full immersion into state-funded cultural associations that promote music and festivals. As a main organiser of Holy Groove Festival, the hills really are alive with the sound of music – that is, funk, afrobeat, jazz and beyond.
Contributor to the Swiss Vibes music blog and a regular voice on the French-Swiss RTS radio network, Beatrice has evolved into a lively figure on the Swiss music scene. Often adding some spin at Montreux Jazz Festival, she can be found in the pop-up library talking about the festival’s rich cultural heritage, interviewing young emerging talents of the Montreux Jazz Academy and DJing at the VIP lounge, looking out for Quincy Jones.
