Orphy is an Award winning multi-instrumentalist, one of a select few UK musicians to have been signed to the historic USA Jazz label “Blue Note”. Robinson has enjoyed a year career that has included numerous music industry awards and recognitions.
Orphy was a recipient of the prestigous 2022 Paul Hamlyn Composer Award, 2020 Jazz Fm Gold Award & 2017 Live Experience of the Year” Award.
Robinson has appeared on over 100 recordings across many genres & also performed with many acclaimed artists such as Thurston Moore, Don Cherry, The Jazz Warriors, Wadada Leo Smith, William Parker, Jean Luc Ponty, Marshall Allen, Sun Ra Arkestra & Nigel Kennedy ,Mica Paris to name a few. He has presented a show on Delite Radio for 8 years and also guest presented on other Internet stations such as Jazz Fm,Solar Radio.
Orphy sits on various boards such as the Ivor’s Academy where he is both Deputy Chair and the Chair of the Jazz + Genre Committee.
